To provide a rotary fit type connector allowing a complete fitting state of both male and female connectors to be recognized by the visual sensation and the auditory sensation in addition to a rotation feeling of an engagement ring, and capable of improving fitting reliability of both the connectors.
A temporary lock projection 31 for mounting the engagement ring 40 at a mounting reference position and a detecting lock projection part 30 for detection positioned on the front side in the rotation direction of the engagement ring 40 are respectively formed on a peripheral wall part of the male connector housing 24 by projecting them outside in the radial direction; and an axial wall part 60b engaging with the temporary lock projection 31 and a flexible lock arm 56 having a lock claw 56a engaging with the locking projection part 30 on the inside surface of a tip part are formed on the outside surface of the engagement ring 40. A contact surface 30c in contact with the flexible lock arm 56 is formed at the projecting tip of the detecting lock projection part 30; and a step part 57 having a contact object surface 57a in contact with the contact surface 30c is formed on the flexible lock arm 56.
