Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict the generation of warpage caused by the frictional heat by reinforcing an annular disk main body with orientation of multiple fine ceramic grain aggregates similarly with the reinforcement by multiple reinforcements embedded in the radial direction, and distributing multiple fine ceramic grain units overall for reinforcement.
SOLUTION: A brake disk 1 is formed of an annular disk main body 2 formed into a large diameter plate shape, which slides for contact with a friction pad, and a fitting part 3 provided inside of the main body 2 and to be fitted to a wheel hub. In the brake disk 1 with this structure, multiple ceramic grain aggregates 7, having an aspect ratio A>1 and multiple fine ceramic grain units 8, are provided by distributing them in a metal matrix 6. In order to restrict the generation of warpage in a rotary axial direction due to the frictional heat, the ceramic grain aggregates 7 are oriented, and the longitudinal direction (c) of the ceramic grain aggregates 7 is made to coincide with the radiating direction (d) in an annular area extended in the radial direction around the rotary axis (a), namely, in the annular disk main body 2 as a friction region.
