PURPOSE: To improve the error rate by synchronizing rotation of a rotary head with timing generating operation of a timing generator and inhibiting an input/ output part from performing its voltage/current changing operation during a period of reproducing a signal by the rotary head.

CONSTITUTION: The rotation of the rotary head 1 and the timing generating operation of the timing generator 7 are synchronized with each other, and during a period of reproducing a signal by magnetic heads 2A and 2B in contact with a recording medium 3, the input/output part is inhibited from performing its voltage/current changing operation. To put it concretely, such operations are inhibited as for turning on/off a display LED, a liquid crystal and an FL, changing contents and making a changeover of dynamic lighting, etc. Thus, since the input/output part is inhibited from performing display changeover operation and scan operation of a sensor, etc., during the period of reproducing by the magnetic heads 2A and 2B of a rotary drum 1 in contact with a magnetic tape 3, etc., noise due to these operations can be prevented from entering into the heads and an amplifier.
