Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent burning on a sliding surface between a cylinder peripheral wall and a rotor outer edge of a rotary internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: In the rotary internal combustion engine, a shutoff valve 31 is inserted into a cylinder in accordance with a rotation of a rotor blade 20, in the cylinder 1, to shut off a peripheral space of the cylinder in a radial direction. In addition, fuel and air are injected and combusted with respect to a sealing layer formed between the shut-off valve and the rotor blade, and a combustion pressure thereof directly provides a rotation to a rotor and an operation shaft with the shut-off valve as a base point of action. The shut-off valve 31 includes: a control valve 33 which is extendable from a lower end of the shut-off valve; and electromagnets 151 and 156 for moving the control valve.
