Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary joint in which an increase in slide resistance between a first sealing ring and a second sealing ring in a mechanical seal can be suppressed.SOLUTION: The rotary joint has a mechanical seal which defines an annular space formed between a case body and a shaft body. The mechanical seal comprises: a first sealing ring 11 having a first seal face; a second sealing ring having a second seal face which slide-contacts with the first seal face; and a plurality of coil springs which are arranged along the first sealing ring 11 in a circumferential direction, impart axial forces to the first sealing ring 11, and push the first seal face to the second seal face. The plurality of coil springs are partitioned into a plurality of groups, and in the first sealing ring 11, first region K1 in which strain generated by the axial force of the coil springs belonging to the groups becomes large and a second region K2 in which the strain becomes smaller than that of the first region K1 are present alternately along the circumferential direction.
