To provide a rotary kiln driving mechanism having satisfactory operability with a simple constitution.SOLUTION: A rotary kiln driving mechanism 10 comprises kiln side projections 22 provided on the outer circumference at the surface of a barrel body 20 of a rotary kiln 12 and girth gear side projections 32 provided at places being the inner circumferential face of a girth gear 30 rotating the barrel 20 and confronted with the kiln side projections 22, and the kiln side projections 22 and the girth gear side projections 32 are mutually engaged upon rotation of the girth gear 30 to rotate the rotary kiln 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
