To provide a drier which recompresses produced steam with a compressor so as to recover the latent heat of evaporation while drying a solid including moisture, and evaporates the moisture with the heat of condensation and dried the solid.
This drier is composed of a kiln body 1 for heat exchange and a steam compressor 2, and sealing devices are constituted at the inlet and outlet of the kiln body for preservation of airtightness of the inside of the body, and rotary valves, etc., for sealing are installed at the charge port and the discharge port of raw material, too. The material dumped in the charge port is dried by the steam passing inside an electrothermic tube, and the evaporated steam is compressed through a steam compressor 2, whereby it comes to high temperature and high pressure, and the latent heat of the stream is completely recovered by carrying out heat transfer by the temperature difference.
