Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means that can enable gasification of a material that is difficult to gasify such as biomass at high efficiency and can enable use of a generated fuel gas in many applications.SOLUTION: A rotary kiln comprises the steps of gasifying treated matter and gasifying the treated matter which is a substance having a large fuel ratio (i.e. a ratio of volatile content to fixed carbon). Reactions in the rotary kiln is composed of main reactions in a first stage which are a preheating reaction and a drying reaction, the main reactions in a middle stage which are a thermal decomposition reaction and a water gas reaction, and the main reactions in a later stage which are a water gas reaction and a shift reaction, each zone of the rotary kiln has an overlapping and progressing reaction because the solid reaction is dominated by an unreacted nuclear model, each zone has a pipe lifter 9a, 9b, 9c, 9d, or 9e installed or a reverse feed chute 10, and efficiency of solid-gas reaction in the rotary kiln increases by increasing trapping efficiency into the pipe lifter and increasing solid dispersion efficiency in the gas.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
