Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact-sized rotary kiln capable of improving a processing capability in which it is heated from outside, a helical groove is fixed at its inner surface, the processed item is processed in heating while the item is being passed in the groove and guided to its outlet.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a rotary kiln 100 comprising a cylinder 1 having at its inner surface a continuous helical groove 7; a rotating device 13 for rotating the cylinder 1; a heating heater 12 for heating an outside part of the cylinder 1; and a width of the helical groove 7 is different in view of a location at the cylinder 1 in its axial direction. The efficient and compact rotary kiln 100 can be attained by making variable pitches 8a, 8b and 8c at optional locations in the cylinder 1 in compliance with a heat treatment pattern required at a processed item 4. The rotary kiln 100 can provide an effect that a length of the cylinder 1 is substantially elongated by making the pitch 8b in the heat treatment zone 9b, for example, shorter than the pitch 8a in a drying treatment zone 9a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
