PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary kiln capable of detecting deformation of a core pipe in a heating chamber.SOLUTION: The rotary kiln 1 includes: a core pipe 43 rotatable around its axis, a heating unit 5 having a heating chamber 52 into which the core pipe 43 is inserted; a support member 60 which is disposed in an inside of the heating chamber 52, and is arranged under the core pipe 43 in such a manner of being separated by a prescribed interval A, and can support the core pipe 43 downwardly deformed beyond the prescribed interval A; and a sensor 63 for detecting contact of the deformed core pipe 43 with the support member 60.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
