Abstract:
To provide a rotary engine by a reciprocating piston, having a high energy conversion efficiency.SOLUTION: A conversion wheel H for converting reciprocating motion of a piston into rotational motion exists between cylinder/piston blocks D, L. An intake cylinder/piston block D pushes an air/medium into a combustion/expansion chamber being an external combustor. An exhaust cylinder/piston block L takes power from combustion gas generated in the combustion/expansion chamber. The exhaust cylinder/piston block has stroke capacity larger than the intake cylinder/piston block. Both the cylinder/piston blocks are connected to the conversion wheel by a rod and a joint, and since the conversion wheel is fixed to a main rotary shaft B, all of three components mutually have the same rotational speed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
