Abstract:
Rotary piston pump comprises a housing, an annular piston fixed to a shaft rotating in the housing, and at least one inlet and one outlet channel. The annular piston has control pockets (38) opening toward its axial end surface for controlling the inlet (40) and outlet openings. The position, shape and size of the control pockets and the inlet and outlet openings are selected so that the inlet opening during piston movement between the upper and the lower dead center and the outlet opening during piston movement between the lower and the upper dead center allow a maximum flow volume of the medium being conveyed. Preferred Features: The control pockets have at least approximately axis-parallel control edges (50, 52). The base (54) of the pocket follows at least approximately the contour of the shaft surface section lying between the control edges.
