Abstract:

To make rotary polygon mirror driving device used for a scan by a laser in a laser printer, etc., high in speed, high in precision (rotary variation jitter and mirror plane tilt), low in noise, and long in life by improving abrasive powder of a sleeve and deterioration of oil affecting an operation attitude and intermittent operation.

A dynamic pressure liquid bearing composed of a rotary shaft 1, a sleeve 2 having at least two herringbone grooves 2a, and oil 7 has the hardness of the peripheral surfaces of the herringbone grooves set 0.7 to 1 time as large as the hardness of the rotary shaft and also has the peripheral surfaces formed of electroless nickel plating layers.
