Title:
ROTARY POLYGON MIRROR FOR EXPOSING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0252309
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the trouble of optical deflecting operation by providing a main body part with moment of inertia which is nearly uniform about an axis of rotation so that deformation caused by rotation becomes uniform. CONSTITUTION:The prismatic main body part 10a of the rotary polygon mirror 10 is so formed that the axially orthogonal planes, i.e. both bottom surface parts are cut in a recess and projection shape as compared with a general rotary polygon mirror. Then the main body part 10a of the rotary polygon mirror 10 is formed having nearly uniform moment of inertia about the axis of rotation. Therefore, the deformation of the main body part 10a accompanying the rotation is caused nearly uniformly about the axis of rotation and strain is generated so that the flatness of reflecting mirrors provided to the outer peripheral part of the main body part 10a is maintained. Consequently, the excellent optical deflecting operation can be maintained.
