Abstract:

To provide a rotary regenerative heat exchanger which is free of the possibility of causing unstableness of rotation even if refractory peels off, and hardly causes vibration and which is also free of the possibility of thermal sagging of a radial seal.

In the rotary regenerative heat exchanger of a vertical shaft type wherein heat exchange is conducted with a rotor 22 rotated around a vertical rotating shaft 23 inside a casing 21, the lower part of the casing 21 is made the high-temperature side and the upper part thereof the low- temperature side, contrary to the usual casing. Since a refractory lining 29 is positioned in the lower part, no problem occurs even when the refractory peels off, and vibration is hardly generated. It is preferable that the casing 21 has an upper-part suspended structure.
