PURPOSE: To reduce vibration and noise as much as possible while permitting scroll laps to make contact with each other in their radial direction by using an induction motor in at least one of the rotary drive portions of scroll members.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of scroll members 1, 2 whose scroll laps 1b, 2b are disposed at different geometrical centers are both rotated about their respective geometrical centers in the same direction and at the same speed. The side face of the scroll lap 1b of the first scroll member 1 and the side face of the scroll lap 2b of the second scroll member 2 are used as means to compensate for the difference in rotational phase between the first 1 and the second 2 scroll members, and an induction motor is used in a first rotary drive portion. Thereby vibration and noise caused when the two scroll laps 1b, 2b are pressed into contact and collide with each other can be reduced and operation of the scroll fluid machine at places where low vibration and low noise are required is made possible.
