Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a storage shelf for an aircraft.SOLUTION: A rotary shelf assembly formed to store luggage and be positioned in the inside of an aircraft. The rotary shelf assembly includes: an upper housing that includes a reinforced back wall and first and second side panels; a bucket that cooperates with the upper housing to define the inside of a storage shelf; a first pivot mechanism operatively associated with the first side panel and the bucket; and a second pivot mechanism operatively associated with the second side panel and the bucket. The first pivot mechanism and the second pivot mechanism are axially aligned along a pivot axis such that the bucket pivots around the pivot axis with respect to the upper housing between an open position and a closed position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 21
