Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a sprayer capable of controlling the viscosity of a spraying liquid surely and obtaining particles of fine size and the narrow ranged particle size distribution, by providing a means for heating the surface of a rotary spraying head which contacts a liquid to be sprayed.

CONSTITUTION: A spraying liquid is supplied to a pipe 14 after rotating a rotary spraying head 5 at high speed. The pipe 14 is heated by coiling a nichrome wire 19 around it, to feed the liquid from a supplying pipe 8 to the head 5 while keeping the liquid in low viscosity. Hot air is supplied to hot air supplying pipes 20, 25 to heat the receiving surface 6A formed at a hub part 6 of the head 5, and the back surface 7D and the diffusing surface 7A of a main body 7 of the head 5, etc. The pipe 8 is also heated by a double pipe nozzle 23'. Thus, the liquid is dropped on the surface 6A while keeping its viscosity low and is flowed out to the surface 7A to form it into a thin film by a centrifugal force caused by the head 5 rotating in high speed, and then it reaches a recessed groove 7C. Next, the liquid is divided by the groove 7C and drawn into a liquid yarn by an edge 7B to be atomized by the centrifugal force caused by the rotation of the head 5.
