PURPOSE: To lessen fluctuation in pressure as well as to reduce vibration and noise by regulating the phase of fluctuation in pressure within a discharge chamber, and thereby setting the timing for opening a discharge valve in such a way that the pressure in the discharge chamber is minimized.
CONSTITUTION: Let the primary resonance frequency and the compressor revolution of a discharge chamber 8 be fa and fb respectively, both the capacity of the discharge chamber 8 and the dimension of related sections of a discharge communicating hole 9 are determined in such a way that a ratio between them, that is, fn/fb is approximately 0.4W0.6. Owing to this constitution, after an increase in pressure in the discharge chamber 8 caused by the flow-in of refrigerant gas has been reflected by the end section of the discharge communicating hole 9, it is transformed into negative pressure waves so as to be transmitted to the discharge chamber 8 so that a discharge valve 7 can be synchronized so as to be opened as soon as the pressure in the discharge chamber is lowered.
