PURPOSE: To provide a rotating body consisting of an alloy of Cr and/or Zr and copper having high hardness at a high temp. and good heat conductivity by regulating the respective contents of Cr and Zr, consisting of the balance Cu and using a quick cooling method of molten metal.
CONSTITUTION: A rotating body to be used in the stage of producing a thin sheet, wire rod or powder of a metal or alloy by a quick cooling method of molten metal is formed of the following copper alloy: This rotating body in an alloy of Cr and/or Zr and Cu which contains 0.001W2wt% Cr and 0.001W1wt% Zr and is formed of the balance Cu. It is possible to incoporate 0.001W1wt% additive element of ≥1 kind selected among Ag, Be, Mg, Zn, B, Al, Fe, Co, Ni and rare earth elements into the above-described alloy component. Since the rotating body has the above-described characteristics, the body is not damaged by the molten metal and has a long service life.
