Abstract:
To perform boring without adding another rod, by making a guide shell of a boring machine shorter than a rod for boring and by using a long length of rod.
A rotating-driving device 5 of the rod 7 gives rotation to the rod 7 for boring and also transmits thereto a feed given by a feeding mechanism. The device is provided with a hollow rotating part 8 through the inside of which the rod 7 having a groove 10 for rotation pierces, arms 14L and 14R which are supported pivotally in the hollow rotating part 8 and can engage with and disengage from the groove 10 and pistons 16L and 16R making the arms 14L and 14R engage with and disengage from the groove 10 of the rod 7.
