To provide an engine that generates rotating power by a magnetic force from permanent magnets and electric power through a generator or the like connected directly therewith.
A fixed body 10 is provided with a cylindrical cavity so as to rotate a rotating cylinder 20 in the cavity, and a shaft 80 is inserted into the rotating cylinder and is supported in the cylinder and a bearing. A coupling is installed at a shaft end, and a distributing drum is installed on the side of the rotating cylinder. Several magnets 11 and 12 are installed on the inner circumferential surface of the fixed body, and several magnets 22 and electromagnets 32 are installed on the outer circumferential surface of the rotating cylinder so that the poles of the magnets on the fixed body are opposed to the poles of the magnets on the rotating cylinder. Thus the rotating cylinder is rotated by attraction and repulsion from the permanent magnets. With respect to the rotating direction, during a period starting from when poles of one polarity pass the center of poles of the other polarity to when the poles of the one polarity come to the center of the poles of the same polarity, anti-turning force is exerted. In order to cope with this, the distance of movement during this period is shortened as much as possible, so that after the rotating cylinder magnets 22 pass the pole center of the fixed body magnets 12, the rotating cylinder magnets are pushed out to positions, where a turning force is exerted by inertia of the movement of the rotating cylinder and a force form the electromagnets. This action is repeated between the magnets and rotational motion is continued, required power is supplied from a battery at start and thereafter from a generator installed at the shaft end, and power other than that consumed by the engine itself is supplied for other parts.
