To objectively and precisely check the rotating torque by holding a matter to be measured by a chuck to which the torque from a driving source is added through a torque sensor to rotate it.
A matter to be measured is moved under a checking position. Opened chucks 47 are situated on both sides of a knob 49 to be measured. The chucks 47 hold the knob 49 by an air cylinder 49. An AC servo motor 29 rotates the knob 49. The rotating motion is transmitted from the AC servo motor 29 to the chucks 47 through an axial center correcting an Oldham's coupling 40 and a load cell 41. The AC servo motor 29 rotates at a speed determined by a servo circuit, and checks the torque under a fixed condition. The output of the strain gauge of the load cell 41 is converted into a digital signal and read into a computer. Since the numerical value digitally displayed by the computer is checked, the reliability of rotating torque of the knob 49 is improved.
