Abstract:
To provide a novel, improved rotating unit and a method for adjusting the bearing clearance.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a rotating unit and to a method for adjusting the bearing clearance. The rotating unit (7) comprises a shaft (14) which is rotated about its longitudinal axis by a rotary motor (15). The shaft is supported against a body (17) of the rotating unit by a bearing assembly (18). The rotating unit further comprises adjusting means for generating a preload for the bearing assembly and adjusting the bearing clearance. The adjusting means comprises an axial adjustment space (24) and at least one pair of half elements (27) arranged between the axial adjustment surfaces (25, 26) for limiting the adjustment space.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
