Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotational amount restricting device which can restrict the rotational amount without bringing about increase in the weight or requiring much time and labor for the manufacture, and provide a webbing takeup device which can limit the rotating amount of a spool and make constant the webbing drawout amount.
SOLUTION: A partially missing ring 54 is installed rotating along with a spool 18, and an engaging projection 74 having an approx. semi-circular shape and stretching in the circumferential direction is formed on the confronting surface 54B of the ring 54. Mating with the projection 74, an engaging recess 78 is formed in a disc 48 on a locking shaft part 40. The spool 18 rotates in the webbing drawout direction to cause the surface 54B to collide with the disc 48, and in this condition, the projection 74 intrudes with no play into the recess 78 to establish engagement. Even if a torque in the webbing drawout direction acts on the spool 18 to cause the ring 54 to be pressed to the disc 48 strongly, spreading of the ring 54 is hindered, and the spool 18 is maintained in the condition with the rotation limited.
