Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle detection structure of an internal combustion engine which allows the size of the internal combustion engine to be reduced in an axial direction of a crank shaft.SOLUTION: A sensing plate 44 for detecting a rotation angle is provided at a balance shaft 30. The balance shaft 30 rotates at an angular velocity which is equal to that of a crank shaft 8. The sensing plate 44 is provided at an end part of the balance shaft 30. The sensing plate 44 is a member different from the balance shaft 30, and formed into a plate shape having a thickness in an axial direction of the balance shaft 30. A planar seating face to which the sensing plate 44 is attached is formed at an end part of the balance shaft 30. The seating face is arranged away from a tip face of the balance shaft 30 to a rear end side, by a distance equal to the thickness of a part to be detected or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
