To solve the problems that timer resolution needs to be improved in a microcomputer since a high drive speed of a switching element is required to superpose a high-frequency current to a drive current in a conventional rotation angle detector, and turn-on or turn-off speed in the switching element should be increased.
A rotation angle detector of a polyphase motor driven by allowing the drive current to flow to winding for drive comprises winding 7b for position detection provided adjacent to the wiring 7a for drive; and a rotation angle detection means 11 for detecting the rotational angle of the polyphase motor, based on the current vector track or the voltage vector track of high-frequency current flowing to the wiring for position detection, when a high-frequency current whose frequency is higher than that of the drive current is supplied to the wiring for position detection.
