This rotation angle detector 40 includes the magnetic detection member 44 for detecting a change in magnetism concurring with the rotation of a throttle gear 22. The magnetic detection member 44 is molded from resin. The magnetic detection member 44 is equipped with the sensing part 45 for detecting the change in the magnetism and a calculation part 47 for making calculation based on an output signal of the sensing part 45 to output a signal corresponding to the change in the magnetism. The sensing part 45 and the calculation part 47 are together shaped into an L. A protection part 45(P) overlapping with the sensing part 45 of the magnetic detection member 44 from the outside and a protection member 44(P) equipped with a support 47(P) supporting the protection part 45(P) are provided. The resin (resin mold part 52) with the magnetic detection member 44 molded therefrom is a foaming resin.
