PURPOSE: To facilitate a unit configuration and require less labor for instructions by allowing the rotating direction of a rotary tool motor to be judged from the rotating direction and the cutting direction of the rotary tool based on input data for a specified tool for preset-direction rotation when instructed.
CONSTITUTION: A turret 2 indexes a rotary tool unit of a T02 rotary tool TB at a machining position and a NC device checks data M13, Z20. The M13 represents a positive run instruction for the rotary tool and the Z20 represents 20mm feed toward a Z axis. The rotary tool T02 is judged to be a face rotary tool unit 20, the configuration of which allows a motor 4 to positively run through the instruction of the NC device. When a rotary tool unit 10 of a rotary tool T07 is indexed at a machining position, data M13, X30 are subject to check, so that the M13 represents normal rotation and the X30 represents 30mm feed toward a X axis. Then, the T07 is judged to be a side rotary tool unit 10, the configuration allows the motor 4 to reversely rotate through the instruction of the NC device.
