To provide a rotation operation device which has a rotation operation member 30 and can provide an operator with rotation operation feeling of the rotation operation member 30 without significant increase of weight and in a non-contact manner.
The rotation operation device comprises the rotation operation member 30 receiving a rotation operation and a magnet 50 provided on a position away from the rotation operation member 30 and providing an operator with operation feeling in accordance with the rotation of the rotation operation member 30. The rotation operation member 30 includes an operation member body made of synthetic resin material and a metal film applied on a surface of the operation member body. The metal films are made of magnetic material and provided only in a plurality of film regions 38a arrayed intermittently in a rotation peripheral direction of the rotation operation member. The magnet 50 is provided on a position intermittently and sequentially facing each of the film regions 38a at a prescribed interval in accordance with the rotation of the rotation operation member 30. Rotation operation feeling is generated by applying the magnetic force respectively on the metal films provided on the film regions 38a.
