To prevent contamination from being produced owing to dust separated from a heat storage structure, and increase a flow rate of cleaning gas for secure separation of the dust.
A crosssectional area of a flow passage for a heat storage structure 2 in a rotor 1 is constructed to be narrower by about 1/2 compared with the prior art, and a flow rate of gas is larger than the prior art. Duels 4, 5 are connected with a housing 3, and high temperature contaminated gas flows through the duct 4 while low temperature clean gas flow through the duct 5. Cleaning gas outlets 8, 9 are provided in sector plates 6, 7 on the side where the rotor 1 is rotated, and the heat storage structure 2 moves from a flow passage side of the contaminated gas to a flow passage side of the clean gas. The cleaning gas outlet 8 is connected with one end side of an upstream side cleaning pipe 10, and the other end is connected with an outlet side of the duct 5. A scavenging fan 10a is provided in the course of the upstream side cleaning pipe 10, and the cleaning gas outlet 9 is connected with the one end side of the downstream side cleaning pipe 11 and the other end side of the same is connected with an outlet side of the duct 4.
