In this rotation transmitting device comprising a two-way clutch C composed of an outer ring 2, an input shaft 4 and a cage 7 incorporating a roller 9, having an armature 13 integrally formed on an end part of the cage 7, and incorporating the frictional resistance applying means for pressing the armature 13 to an end face 2b of the outer ring 2, the frictional resistance applying means has an inclined face 16 on an end face of the input shaft 4 opposite to the armature 13, accommodates a plurality of weights 19 in an annular space formed by the inclined face 16, a frictional coefficient between the opposite end faces of the armature 13 and the outer ring 2 is determined to be larger than a frictional coefficient between the end face 13b of the armature 13 and the weight 19, the weights 19 are moved outward in the radial direction by the centrifugal force by the rotation of the input shaft 4, and the armature 13 is pressed to the end face 2b of the outer ring 2.
