To provide a rotation type parts feeder which can save an installing area of the parts feeder in a picking robot system and reduce an investment of an equipment.
The rotation type parts feeder includes a plurality of parts trays 10 for accommodating parts, a rotating part 12 for holding the positions of the plurality of parts trays 10 to rotate and move the parts trays 10, a parts tray controller 14 for receiving parts information of parts picked by a robot 30 to control the rotating part 12 to arrange the parts tray 10 in which desired parts are accommodated in an uppermost part in accordance with parts information, a 3D sensor 20 provided in the vicinity of the uppermost part of the rotating part 12 to obtain 3D data of the parts accommodated in the parts tray 10 arranged in the uppermost part and an image recognizing device 22 for receiving the 3D data obtained in the 3D sensor 20 to generate a robot control signal for picking the desired parts by the robot 30 in accordance with the 3D data.
