Title:
ROTATIONAL SPEED CONTROL DEVICE FOR OUTBOARD MOTOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004124816
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a rotational speed control device for an outboard motor, capable of protecting (preventing damage) an internal combustion engine mounted on the outboard motor by lowering rotational speed when detecting abnormality in the engine, and preventing unpleasantness from being given to a driver by preventing generation of vibration of the internal combustion engine.

A throttle valve is driven with a throttle motor and, if engine speed NE is beyond a prescribed rotational speed (1,800 rpm) (YES in S16) when engine failure is detected (YES in any of S14, S20 and S22), the throttle motor 40 is driven so that a throttle opening θTH may decrease gradually (in increments of one degree), the engine speed NE is lowered (S18).
