To provide a rotor for rotary electric machine in which an eddy current loss via a magnet on which insulation coating processing has not been performed, is suppressed while using the magnet, and output reduction can be suppressed by reducing magnetic flux leakage.
A permanent magnet 26 is inserted and disposed within a magnet insertion hole 32 which is formed in a rotor core 12 of a rotor for rotary electric machine. One side of the permanent magnet 26 is magnetized to a first polarity and another side is magnetized to a second polarity that is different from the first polarity. The permanent magnet 26 is fixed in the magnet insertion hole 32 by an electric insulation adhesive layer 34 which is provided between the one side and the other side of the permanent magnet 26 and an inner wall surface of the magnet insertion hole 32, and a high-permeability material is mixed in the adhesive layer 34. A cavity part that is a low-permeability area is formed between a side surface of the permanent magnet 26 other than the one side and the other side and the inner wall surface of the magnet insertion hole.
