Title:
ROTOR FOR SUPERCONDUCTING ELECTRICAL ROTARY MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6455055
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve not only the shielding effect but also the reliability and profitability of an apparatus by providing low temperature dampers composed of superconductors on the outer surface of a refrigerant container.

CONSTITUTION: Low temperature dampers 51 of a rotor for a superconducting electrical rotating machine are obtained by fixing of superconductors 51a in grooves of the surface of a refrigerant container 6. Said superconductors 51a are arranged axially and circumferentially to form a so-called cage electric circuit. Then, if a variable magnetic field is applied to said low temperature dampers 51, such current as cancelling said variable magnetic field flows through the superconductor 51a. In this case, as the electric resistance of the superconductor 51a is zero, there is nothing obstructing the flow of a current and a large shielding effect is exhibited. Also, no joule loss is generated either. Further, the refrigerant container 6 is obtained by fitting of a high strength non-magnetic metal cylinder to a coil mounting shaft 2 to show a large rigidity integrally with said coil mounting shaft 2.
