To obviate necessity for providing a torque tube with a thermal elongation absorbing mechanism and shorten the overall axial length of an entire rotor.
The rotor of a superconducting rotary electric machine includes: a cylindrical winding-installed shaft 16; a superconducting field winding 8 provided in the peripheral portion of the winding-installed shaft 16; torque tubes 20a, 20b coupled with the winding-installed shaft 16; and two rotating shafts 2a, 2b to which torques are respectively transferred through the torque tubes 20a, 20b. The winding-installed shaft 16 has a protruded portion 16a shorter in axial length than the superconducting field winding 8, and formed in the superconducting field winding 8. The torque tubes 20a, 20b are coupled with the protruded portion 16a.
