The rotor 10 includes a rotor core 20 formed by stacking a number of substantially disk-shaped steel plates and a pair of end plates 30, 30 disposed at both the ends in an axial direction of the rotor core. The rotor core 20 includes a plurality of thin parts 26 in a circumferential direction, and a plurality of engagement sections 31 are formed on the end plates 30. A plurality of engagement sections 31 are embedded in the plurality of thin parts 26, thus stopping the end plate 30 around the rotor core 20.
