PURPOSE: To perform efficiently the broadside rolling of a thick sheet by only reciprocating a material to be rolled while increasing gradually the gap between a pair of upper and lower sleeve rolls every time the material passes through the sleeve rolls.
CONSTITUTION: A titled mill is constituted of upper and lower shafts 1, 2 which have noncircular crosssectional shapes and are supported freely rotatably at their both ends by chocks 3a, b, sleeve rolls 10W13 which have each a hole having a shape corresponding to said crosssectional shape and are fitted, each by two rolls, to each of the upper and lower shafts 1, 2 freely slidably in the axial directions of shafts 1, 2 and have a small outer-diameter part and a large outer-diameter part formed successively to the small one, sliders 14, 15, 26, 27 for separately supporting respective rolls 10W13 by holding the small outer- diameter parts freely rotatably, and screws 16W19, 28W31 for independently and spirally advancing respective sliders along the axial directions by separately screwing them with the sliders and rotating them by means of driving parts.
