To provide an improved row of flow directing elements (10, 12) used in turbomachinery devices.
The row of flow directing elements for which flutter stability has been improved includes at least one high-frequency flow directing element (10) and at least one low frequency flow directing element (12). In a preferred embodiment, the row includes a plurality of alternately installed high-frequency and low-frequency flow directing elements (10, 12). The three lowest frequency vibration modes for the respective high-frequency flow directing elements (10) are higher in frequency at least by 2.0% than the three lowest frequency vibration modes for the respective low frequency flow directing elements (12). The row of this invention is of value especially as a part of a rotor stage in a turbo machinery device.
