Title:
RUBBER BLOCK IMPROVED IN SLIDING RESISTANCE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH1136211
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To prevent fall when it is humid due to rainfall during walking or moving by an assisting device by mixing powder which becomes a sliding resistance member in surface layer rubber or in a binder for binding surface layer rubber chips to arrange projecting parts on the surface.

Rice hulls 5 are exposed to the surface so that even if a water film of rainwater is made on the surface, sliding resistance is enlarged. For example, high specific gravity material such as a concrete block is provided in the rubber layer, or a hollow part is installed to further improve water permeability. A standard hardness area and a low hardness area may be arranged on the surface rubber layer. The tread part of the sole of shoes of a walker walking on the rubber block 1 is such that the heel is set as a high hardness part, and the kick-out part is set as a low hardness part. Accordingly, the component force of the horizontal sliding at the time of kick out is converted to the vertical component force by the low hardness part so as to prevent tumbling. Thus, even if it is humid due to rainfall or sprinkling, a violent fall due to slipping can be prevented.
