Abstract:
The present invention provides: a rubber composition for conveyor belts, which enables the production of a conveyor belt that has a cover rubber layer having excellent wear resistance; and a conveyor belt which uses this rubber composition for conveyor belts. A rubber composition for conveyor belts according to the present invention contains a rubber component that contains 45-100% by mass of a butadiene rubber, an ultra high molecular weight polyethylene and carbon black. The content of the ultra high molecular weight polyethylene is 1.0-15.0 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the rubber component; the content of the carbon black is 25-45 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the rubber component; and the carbon black has a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area of 85-160 m2/g and a dibutyl phthalate oil absorption of 105-140 ml/100 g.
