To obtain a rubber composition for a golf ball suitable for the pressure molding, having an appropriate hardness, and capable of obtaining a mold with the excellent performance at the initial velocity, and to provide a golf ball with the high impact resilience formed by using the rubber composition.
The rubber composition for a golf ball is produced by mixing a base rubber material, a metal salt of an unsaturated carboxylic acid, and/or an unsaturated carboxylic acid and zinc oxide, and an organic peroxide. In addition, 0.1-1 pts.mass of a dislkyldisulfide expressed in the following formula (1) is mixed with 100 pts.mass of the base rubber material; formula (1) R1-S-S-R2 [R1 and R2 are each an alkyl group expressed as CnH2n+1 ((n) is an integer among the carbon numbers 3-10), and R1 and R2 may be either same or different from each other]. The golf ball provided here is made of this rubber composition.
