To obtain a vulcanizable composition exhibiting shape memory properties and high rubber elasticity when vulcanized by compounding an ethylene-α- olefin-nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber and a polyolefin resin.
Into 100 pts.wt. of an ethylene-α-olefin-nonconjugated polyene copolymer rubber comprising ethylene, 3-20C α-olefin and a nonconjugated polyene are melt-kneaded and microdispersed 3-50 pts.wt. of a polyolefin resin having a Vicat softening point of at least 70°C thereby giving a rubber composition, which is vulcanized to give a vulcanizate having a shape memory rate of at least 50%, an elongation set after 300% elongation of 30% or less, a breaking extension at 23°C of at least 600% and a volume resistivity of at least 1×108. This rubber composition is molded at a temperature not lower than the Vicat softening point (Ts) of the component B, vulcanized simultaneously with or after molding, shaped at a temperature not lower than the Ts of the component B and cooled down to the temperature not higher than the Ts to give a grommet.
