Abstract:
To provide a rubber composition used for oil seals for a reciprocating axle, excellent in abrasion resistance and free from fear of abrading the axle.
The rubber composition comprises 1-60 pts.wt. chromium oxide and 5-60 pts.wt. graphite and 100 pts.wt. NBR. In this case, graphite having an average particle diameter of 1-120 m, preferably 4-20 m, is used. Also the blend ratio of chromium oxide to graphite in terms of parts by weight is in a range of 1:9 to 9:1. Thus, an oil seal for a reciprocating axle with better abrasion resistance can be obtained.
