To obtain a rubber composition for a solid golf ball capable of manufacturing in an excellently productive way a solid core which has an improved rebound performance while maintaining a soft hit-feeling characteristic, a method of manufacturing a core for a solid golf ball and a golf ball containing a core obtained by using the rubber composition for a solid golf ball.
The rubber composition for a solid golf ball contains polybutadiene rubber, a cocrosslinking agent, an organic peroxide, a filler and an organic sulfur compound and when a solid golf ball core is molded using the rubber composition, the core surface has a trans structure content of 20-39% in a crosslinked polybutadiene rubber component and a number obtained by subtracting a trans structure content in a crosslinked polybutadiene rubber component at the core center from a trans structure content in a crosslinked polybutadiene rubber component at the core surface is 5-35%. Since a soft core is used, a soft hit-feeling characteristic and excellent carry performance are achieved. The method of manufacturing a core for a solid golf ball enables a core having excellent characteristics to be simply manufactured.
