To provide a rubber composition for a tire which enables a studless tire to be manufactured, the studless tire being excellent in both on-ice performance and wear resistance, and to provide a studless tire using the rubber composition for a tire.
A rubber composition for a tire contains 100 pts.mass of a diene-based rubber (A), 30-100 pts.mass of a carbon black and/or a white filler (B), and 0.3-30 pts.mass of a crosslinkable oligomer or polymer (C) incompatible with the diene-based rubber (A), wherein the crosslinkable oligomer or polymer (C) is a polyester-based, polyolefin-based, polycarbonate-based, aliphatic, saturated hydrocarbon-based, acrylic or plant-derived polymer or copolymer, and the crosslinkable oligomer or polymer (C) has at least one reactive functional group selected from the group consisting of a hydroxyl group, a silane functional group, an isocyanate group, a (meth)acryloyl group, an allyl group, a carboxy group, an acid anhydride group and an epoxy group.
