To provide a rubber composition for a tire tread, exhibiting processability, mechanical strength and rigidity in good balance compared to a conventional rubber composition containing a reclaimed rubber and a powder rubber while keeping the high gripping performance and abrasion resistance by compounding a liquid reclaimed rubber as a plasticizer with a rubber composition, to provide a pneumatic tire having the tread using the rubber composition, and to reduce the cost for the tire production by improving recycling of a rubber product such as a used tire which has been subjected to disposal and using the recycled reclaimed rubber.

The rubber composition for the tire tread contains 5-30 pts.wt. liquid reclaimed rubber having 80 wt.% amount dissolvable in toluene and 20 Mooney viscosity (ML1+4/100C). The pneumatic tire has the tread using the rubber composition containing the liquid reclaimed rubber.
