Abstract:
To provide a rubber composition for tires capable of improving overall performance of steering stability and wet grip performance, and a pneumatic tire produced using the rubber composition.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the rubber composition for tires which contains: a rubber component containing 50 mass% or more of styrene-butadiene rubber and 20 mass% or more of butadiene rubber; 70 pts.mass or more of silica based on 100 pts.mass of the rubber component; a mercapto-based silane coupling agent; and a C5 resin. The rubber composition for tires satisfies the following inequalities (A) and (B): (A) α≥30 and (B) α/β≤25, where α is the total vinyl content [mass%] in the styrene-butadiene rubber and the butadiene rubber, and β is the content [pts.mass] of the C5 resin based on 100 pts.mass of the rubber component.SELECTED DRAWING: None
