To provide a sulfur-modified chloroprene rubber to give a vulcanizate that is excellent in permanent compression set and scorching resistance and has reduced exothermic properties.SOLUTION: A rubber composition contains a sulfur-modified chloroprene rubber 100 pts.mass in which the mass ratio of a mercapto benzimidazole-derived terminal structure (A) and a xanthogendisulfide-derived terminal structure (B) (B/A) is 0-6 and the total content (A+B) is 0.1-0.6 pts.mass, and carbon black 25-55 pts.mass with an average particle size of 15-80 nm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
